3 essays later

so after writing all 3 essays for this class, ive come to realize that i have improved. the first essay took the longest to write and revise, while the third practically just came to me. i really like this class, it teaches you to beleive in yourself whilst writing your paper. and thats whats happened to me. i came into this class being a terrible writer, and now, i will leave this class an improved writer. i still dont like writing essays, but i can say that they are easier to write now. i also like the major peer reviews we do in class in the online group. everyone has thier two cents and they are allowed to share it.

Welcome to the Jungle

I just finished my second essay for the class, and it was easier to write this one than the first one. I was able to write it more comfortably and effectivly. But i think that the reason was I was already aware of this topic and knew some good information. I find that i am a much more effective writer if the topic is something that I am already knowledgable of.

My writing

I dont really right anything outside of the classroom. I am not a big writer and it stresses me out. I know of a few people that will write just for the fun of it but I will never do that. Writing to me is more of a tedeous chore that I do not want to do. If given the choice, I would rather do a speech than write an essay. I love speeches. i like to be able to speak my mind.. its a lot easier to say what im thinking than to write it down on a paper.

what frusttrates me the most about writing

I would have to say that i am not able to just sit down and start pulling out stuff to write an essay. It takes me quite a while to get started. Also, in highschool, i was taught NEVER to write in first or second person. While that is a good thing, its terrible for writing an argumentative essay. I also dont like revising my own work bc i have no idea on what im looking for or anything, but at least i have some friends who are good at that. Another thing is that i am probably my own worst critic and i tend to erase paragraphs at a time bc i dont like them, even if they are perfect.

My favorite type of writing

my favorite type of writing is something argumentative. especially if its something that i am already aware of and have a great deal of knowledge about. i enjoy hearing other peoples views and how they came about it. its really interesting because i get to learn something new.

how i feel about me as a writer

As a wirter, I am about under average. I tend to repeat things, use the incorrect punctuation, stull like that. I don't use alot of detail when describing something. If there is a topic I know alot about already, thats when my writing drastically improves. Also, my handwriting is sometimes not legible. Even though i don't try to, I always end up only meeting the basic requirements for any paper. I would love to see my ablilites as a writer dramatically improve. I want to be able to use great detail and great descriptive words. It's hard for me to actually start a paper; but once I get going, it comes to me easier. i do have trouble deciding on what order I should write in. I am good at doing my research on the topics adn i know how to cite my sources. I hope this class will help me overcome my worst aspect about me.
